Volkswagen (German: Volkswagen) is a car manufacturer based in Wolfsburg, Germany, and a core company of the Volkswagen Group, one of the world's four largest automakers.
Volks means "nationals" in German, and Wagen means "cars" in German. The full name means "national car", so it is often referred to as "VW". Taiwan is translated as Foss, Hong Kong, Macao, and the mainland is translated as Volkswagen or Fuchs, meaning "people's car." The entire automobile group produced and sold more than 9.07 million units in 2012, and the Volkswagen brand exceeded 5.74 million units.
On August 25, 2018, Volkswagen officially announced the independent launch of the electric "We Share" car sharing service. In November, Volkswagen announced its entry into the field of electric vehicles.
